BELSIZE ACADEMY PUPILS' CONCERT
24 March 2013, 4pm - Belsize Music Academy end of term concert. Academy pupils
will perform works by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin,
Prokofiev and Grieg and will be joined in this concert by three
exceptionally gifted young concert pianists who combine concert careers
with teaching at the Academy - Sergey Basukinsky, Petr Limonov and Mark
Viner. They will present works by three great Romantics - Schumann,
Chopin and Liszt.

Viennese Piano. A celebration of viennese music: from Haydn and Beethoven to Schoenberg.
Karim Said
launched an international career touring Berg’s Chamber Concerto with
his mentor Daniel Barenboim, a great advocate of the Second Viennese
School himself. In this programme, Karim explores and introduces the solo music of both ‘’Viennese Schools’’ in the context of a broader recital programme.8th December 2012 7:30 pm:

Pupils of Belsize Music Academy aged 8 – 16 perform Prokofiev’s
cycle “Music for the Young” and works by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Glinka, Tchaikovsky
and Grieg
3rd November 2012: Violin and Piano recitalOutstanding young musicians
Litsa Tunnah (violin) and
Petr Limonov
(piano) play sonatas by Beethoven, Ravel and Prokofiev. Beethoven's
Kreutzer Sonata, perhaps the most famous of all violin sonatas, is
followed by Ravel's jazz-influenced Sonata in G major and Prokofiev's
masterpiece, his beautiful Sonata no.2 in D major
.14th October 2012:
Chopin and His IdolsThis concert
is dedicated to exploring the influences of Bach and Mozart on Chopin's
music. Pupils of the Belsize Music Academy join professional musicians
and actors to create a production based on the script by Anthony
Phillips, translator of Prokofiev's Diaries. The programme includes
works by Bach and Mozart, two composers Chopin held in the highest
esteem, as well as his famous Mazurkas, Nocturnes, Waltzes and the great
Barcarolle.

classical guitar repertoire in different styles to be enjoyed by both
children and adults.

Alexei Grynyuk,
who recently appeared on the BBC Proms plays a programme of Chopin and
Liszt. Chopin's Polonaise, Nocturnes and Mazurkas are followed by
Liszt's great B minor Sonata and Horowitz's transcription of Liszt's
Hungarian Rhapsody no.2

Gagliano Ensemble perform Mozart and Brahms piano quartets.

Rachmaninoff and Scriabin.
